自新型冠状病毒肺炎疫情暴发以来，国家模式与特色实验细胞资源库积极响应国家号召，先后为新冠病毒病原分离和检定、发病机制和致病机理、诊断方法和综合防控技术、疫苗研发和抗病毒药物筛选等科研攻关项目提供《新型冠状病毒肺炎诊疗方案》指定实验材料VEROE6、Huh-7等实验细胞资源及其相关技术服务。同时，为了更好地完成好新型冠状病毒感染的肺炎疫情防控和科研工作支撑，国家模式与特色实验细胞资源库重点推荐一批国际公认的肺部相关细胞和肺癌细胞资源。
